  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Cream Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • teaspoons dried basil or ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • Start by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken and sear until golden brown, about 5–6 minutes per side. Set the chicken aside on a plate.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat slightly and add the butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and stir gently for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer, scraping up golden bits from the pan. Stir in heavy cream and let warm. Sprinkle in Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth. Add basil.
  • Nestle the seared chicken back into the skillet, turning to coat in the sauce. Let everything simmer on low heat for about 10–12 minutes until chicken is cooked and sauce thickens slightly.
  • Serve the chicken hot, spooning generous amounts of basil cream sauce over the top. Serve with angel hair pasta or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Add baby spinach for a green boost. A pinch of red pepper flakes can add heat if desired.
