Dry Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground allspice

Wet Ingredients

  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cups apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar Crust

  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan to prevent sticking.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Add the apple cider and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • While the loaf is baking, mix together the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Once the loaf is baked and slightly cooled, brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over it.
  • Slice it up and serve warm.

Notes

For variations, you can substitute apple cider with apple juice or buttermilk, add chopped apples or nuts, or make it dairy-free using plant-based butter.
